The Abingdon Medical Museum is located in the old Abingdon Ambulance Service building near the former Johnston Memorial Hospital in the Historic District of Abingdon. It is housed in a 110 years old building that was built by a Civil War veteran who went on to become a member of the Virginia House of Delegates.
The museum maintains exhibits of medical artifacts from the early nineteenth century up to the present day, and focuses on the history of medicine, especially as it relates to southwest Virginia.
